About Us

The Sports Development Unit is part of the Community Culture and Sports Division. The Unit is managed by the Senior and Assistant Sports officer and supported by 3 Sports development officers and an administrator. The unit’s programmes are part funded by the Irish Sports Council under the Local Sports Partnership programme.

The aim of the programme is-“…To increase opportunities for the population of  Fingal to participate in sport, to promote sustainable development of sport in Fingal to provide leadership, co-ordination and direction to the broad range of agencies and organisations with a stake in sport in the county”

Aim of sports development-“…. Is to develop local sports partnership and encourage every person to participate in a wide variety of sports, from as young an age as possible.”
