Welcome to The Fingal County Council Sports Section Website

The Fingal County Council Sports Section was formed in 2002 in order to achieve Fingal County Council’s aim, as stated in The Fingal Citizen Charter, “to improve the quality of life for the people we serve”.

The Fingal County Council Sports Section works in partnership with all sporting groups, clubs and NGBs to promote opportunities for sports participation and increasing awareness across all sectors of society by providing quality programming, information, training and support.

The main aims of the Fingal County Council Sports Section are:

  • To increase the number of Fingal Citizens participating in sport and physical activity
  • To work in partnership with others to provide opportunities to up skill sports leaders through training and support
  • To support suitable partners in the provision of accessible, high quality facilities to meet the sporting needs of Fingal Citizens
  • To raise the profile of sport and physical recreation in the County
